"You Become What You Believe"

"You Become What You Believe"

The desires we act on determine our changing,

our achieving and our becoming.

Dallin H. Oaks

faith, divine nature, individual worth,

knowledge, choice & accountability, good works & integrity

In the book Daughters in My Kingdom, we read about Sister Hedwig Biereichel, a woman in Germany who suffered much sorrow and deprivation during World War II. Because of her love and charitable nature, and even in her own great need, she willingly shared her food with starving prisoners of war. Later, when asked how she was able to "keep a testimony during allthose trials," she replied in effect,

"I didn't keep a testimony through those times—the testimony kept me."

May the Sunlight of Faith ever warm your hearts.

Gordon B. Hinckley

"To those who humbly seek, there is no need to stumble or falter along the pathway leading to truth. It is well marked by our Heavenly Father. We must first have a desire to know for ourselves. We must study. We must pray. We must do the will of the Father. And then we will know the truth, and the truth will make us free."
Thomas S. Monson

"We cannot repent for someone else. But we can forgive someone else,

refusing to hold hostage those whom the Lord seeks to set free!"

Neal A. Maxwell

"There has come to you as your birthright

something beautiful and sacred and divine.

Never forget that.

Your Eternal Father is the great Master of the universe.

He rules over all,

but He also will listen to your prayers . . .

and hear you as you speak with Him.

He will answer your prayers.

He will not leave you alone."

President Gordon B. Hinckley

Remember How Merciful the Lord Hath Been

As you submit your will to God, you are giving Him the only thing you can actually give Him that is really yours to give. Don't wait too long to find the altar or to begin to place the gift of your wills upon it! No need to wait for a receipt; the Lord has His own special ways of acknowledging."

Neal A. Maxwell

"The road signs of life enticingly invite every traveler:

This way to fame; this way to affluence;

this way to popularity; this way to luxury.

Pause at the crossroads before you continue your journey.

Listen for that still, small voice

which ever so gently beckons,

"Come, follow me."

Thomas S. Monson

The closer we walk with God the less room for anything to come between us.
