Prayer It's hard to stumble, when you're on your knees
"He [the Lord] will always hear your prayers and will invariably answer them.
However, His answers will seldom come while you are on your knees praying,
even when you may plead for an immediate response.
Rather, He will prompt you in quiet moments when the Spirit can most effectively touch your mind and heart.
Hence, you should find periods of quiet time to recognize when you are being instructed and strengthened."
"As we pass through the trials of life, let us keep an eternal perspective,
let us not complain, let us become even more prayerful,
let us serve others, and let us forgive one another.
As we do this, 'all things will work together for good to us that love God'
"Recognize that there is a power greater than ours, that no matter how good a man is, he is not good enough, that no matter how wise he is, he is not wise enough, that no matter how strong he is, he is not strong enough for all of the things which he will face in life, and that there is a source of power to which he can go with the assurance that he will be listened to and that there will be a response."
"A key to improved prayer is to learn to ask the right questions.
Consider changing from asking for the things you want to honestly seeking what He wants for you.
Then as you learn His will, pray that you will be led to have the strength to fulfill it."
Standing Tall
You reach the greatest heights while on your knees
even more than if you should obtain ctreasures of earth and corruptibleness to the extent thereof.
D & C 19:38
"When we teach those we love that we are spirit children
temporarily away from a loving Heavenly Father, we open the door of prayer to them. . . .
"I can promise you that no joy will exceed what you would feel
if a child of yours prays in the hour of need and receives . . . an answer."
"You who pray sometimes, why not pray more regularly, more often, more devoutly? Is time so precious, life so short, or faith so scant? . . . Do you pray occasionally when you should be praying regularly, often, constantly? . . . Do you just speak, or do you also listen? . . . Do you give thanks or merely ask for favors?"
"For prayers to be efficacious, they must be in harmony with the plan of heaven. The prayer of faith bears fruit when such harmony exists, and this harmony exists when prayers are inspired by the Holy Spirit."
"Ponder deeply and diligently in the scriptures and in the words of living prophets. Persist in prayer for the Holy Ghost to reveal to you the nature of God the Father and His Beloved Son. Plead that the Spirit will show you what the Lord wants you to do. Plan to do it. Promise Him to obey. Act with determination until you have done what He asked. And then pray to give thanks for the opportunity to serve and to know what you might do next."
"There is a knowledge that our Father in Heaven wants each of us to have,
and that is a personal knowledge that he hears and answers our prayers."
"He [Heavenly Father] is our perfect Father. He loves us beyond our capacity to understand.
He knows what is best for us. He sees the end from the beginning.
He wants us to act to gain needed experience:
"When He answers yes, it is to give us confidence.
"When He answers no, it is to prevent error.
"When He withholds an answer, it is to have us grow through faith in Him,
obedience to His commandments, and a willingness to act on truth."
"Learn to pray. Pray often. Pray in your mind, in your heart. Pray on your knees.
Prayer is your personal key to heaven. The lock is on your side of the veil.
And I have learned to conclude all my prayers with
'Thy will be done'
"I would ask that your faith and prayers continue to be offered in behalf of those areas where our influence is limited and where we are not allowed to share the gospel freely at this time. Miracles can occur as we do so."
"To those who humbly seek, there is no need to stumble or falter along the pathway leading to truth. It is well marked by our Heavenly Father. We must first have a desire to know for ourselves. We must study. We must pray. We must do the will of the Father. And then we will know the truth, and the truth will make us free."
"Prayer begins with individual initiative. 'Behold,' saith the Lord, 'I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me' (Revelation 3:20). That door is opened when we pray to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ (see 3 Nephi 18:20; D&C 88:64). . . .
"Let us ever pray 'that [the Lord's] kingdom may go forth upon the earth, that the inhabitants . . . may . . . be prepared for the days . . . [when] the Son of Man shall come down . . . in the brightness of his glory, to meet the kingdom of God which is set up on the earth' (D&C 65:5). In our daily lives and in our own crucial hours, may we fervently apply these precious lessons from the Lord."
"Morning and evening prayers—and all of the prayers in between—
are not unrelated, discrete events; rather, they are linked together each day and across days,
weeks, months, and even years."
If you're missing Peace and seeking answers.
Prayer might be the Piece you're missing.
Ask of God
"Our hearts can only be drawn out to God
when they are filled with love for Him and trust in His goodness.
