The Truth of God Will Go Forth

"It was said that at one time the sun never set on the British Empire. That empire has now been diminished. But it is true that the sun never sets on this work of the Lord as it is touching the lives of people across the earth."

Worn Soles

The shoes of our hardworking missionaries,
Become worn starting to develop small holes.
As they tract trying to preach the gospel.
Looking for our Savior's, lost souls.

Traveling in a car or just pedaling their bike.
Willing to freely give two years of their life.
Knocking on many unknown doors each day.
Young fishers of men relieving toil and strife.

Changing companionships from time to time.
Living in several different areas and places.
Heeding the call to serve where directed.
Doing God's will meeting new faces.

Waking up at 6:30 each and every morning.
Having few choices what they're going to wear.
Kneeling and praying for a missionary experience.
Giving a Book of Mormon, testimony to share.

They know the worth of a soul is great.
In our Heavenly Father's eternal sight.
Knowing how great will be their own joy.
Going forward in the work with all their might.

Desiring others to come to the waters of baptism.
Gaining a testimony with a sincere fervent heart.
These wonderful souls taught by the Holy Spirit.
Missionaries grateful for worn soles, doing their part.

"A True Disciple of Christ Will Always be Remembered,
For Changing Another's Life."

"Missionary service is not easy, but it is infinitely worth it."

If there are any doors open for the Elders to preach the first principles of the gospel: let them not keep silence: rail not against the sects, neither talk against their tenets. But preach Christ and him crucified, love to God, and love to man. . . . Be meek and lowly of heart, and the Lord God of our fathers shall be with you for evermore.

Joseph Smith

"There is no other labor in all the world that brings to a human heart, judging from my own personal experience, more joy, peace and serenity than proclaiming the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ."

"The Joy of Becoming Clean"

"Repentance is powerful spiritual medicine. There are few spiritual ills it will not cure. Each sin we leave behind through our faith in the living Christ—both those of commission and those of omission—opens spiritual doors. As we feel the potency of repentance, we better understand why Christ admonished the early missionaries of this dispensation to "say nothing but repentance unto this generation."

Feed My Sheep
From Adam to the present day
The message of the gospel came.
To children of our Heavenly King
Each one he knows them by their name.

With Love for each dear child of God
We have been sent to teach his word.
His name is written in our heart
We must go forth and do our part.

We have been given his priesthood power
And charged to watch and feed his sheep.
As servants of the Son of God
We must strive on and never sleep.

For if we are to live with him
Our sacred trust we must fulfill.
That we may stand before his face
And be partakers of his grace.

"… be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you."

1 Peter 3:15

We don't ask any people to throw away any good they have got; we only ask them to come and get more. What if all the world should embrace this Gospel? They would then see eye to eye, and the blessings of God would be poured out upon the people, which is the desire of my whole soul.

Joseph Smith

Keepers of Light

The Pondering man wants to add insight,
About those he calls keepers of light.
Light Houses need caretakers, day and night.
Help those in need, with their might.

A distressed ship may see a faint beam,
Though a hundred miles away, it may seem.
Casting an illusion, of massing pillars of steam.
Piercing through clouds, making one's heart gleam.

Willing to help, regardless of the weather,
Reuniting lost loved ones, back together.
Giving comfort, making one's load, feel like a feather.
Finding and saving lost souls, could last forever.

Light houses come in different shapes and sizes.
Seen miles off shore, as the morning sun rises.
Faithful light house keeper, willingly advises.
Sounding warnings of hazardous surprises.

Light houses are made of more materials, than just stone.
Sharing the light, letting them know they're not alone.
Giving comfort and courage, to handle the unknown.
Having gratitude, for the seed they have carefully sewn.

Do not be discouraged on account of the greatness of the work; only be humble and faithful. . . . He who scattered Israel has promised to gather them; therefore inasmuch as you are to be instrumental in this great work, He will endow you with power, wisdom, might, and intelligence, and every qualification necessary.

Joseph Smith

"The Saints of God have always been under covenant to nourish each other spiritually, especially those tender in the gospel."

"In the service of the Lord, it is not where you serve but how."

"I believe there is nothing in all the world that can compare with the joy that a man feels when he realizes that he has been the instrument in the hands of the living God of reaching some honest heart, inspiring in it
a love of God and the desire to serve Him."

"I have attended hundreds of missionary meetings over the years. I love to hear missionaries speak of their love for the Lord, but I also love to hear them speak with great appreciation and love concerning their parents. Boys who had been careless and indifferent stand on their feet and with tears in their eyes thank the Lord for their fathers and their mothers. In these days, what a salutary and wonderful thing it is to hear a strong young man stand up and speak with great feeling concerning his father and his mother, saying things he would never have said
before in all of his life.
Every boy and girl ought to come home with an increased love for parents."

Gordon B. Hinckley
