Our becoming

"God rarely moves the mountains in front of us but He always helps us climb them.
Sheri Dew

During a time long past, and in a place far away, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, taught the multitudes and His disciples "the way, the truth, and the life." 1 He provided counsel with His holy words. He lived an example for us with His exemplary life. On occasion the Lord would ask another this question: "What manner of persons ought ye to be?" "What manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am."
"Who we are is not who we can become."
"It is extremely important for you to believe in yourselves, not only for what you are now, but for what you have the power to become."
Neal A. Maxwell

"Desires dictate our priorities, priorities shape our choices, and choices determine our actions. The desires we act on determine our changing, our achieving, and our becoming."
Dallin H. Oaks

"Sometimes we forget who we really are and what we can become. The Lord knows who we really are; what we really think; what we really do; and who we really are becoming."
David A Bednar

"We must develop the capacity to see men not as they are at present, but as they may become."
Thomas S. Monson

"Don't let who you used to be stop you from who you can become"

"We become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become each day."
Richard G. Scott

If you want something to last forever, you treat it differently. You shield it and protect it. You never abuse it. You don't expose it to the elements. You don't make it common or ordinary. If it ever becomes tarnished, you lovingly polish it until it gleams like new. It becomes special because you made it so, and it grows more beautiful and precious as time goes by.
F. Burton Howard

"Try and keep on trying until that which seems difficult becomes possible and that which seems only possible becomes habit and a real part of you." Dieter F. Uchtdorf

"Line upon line and precept upon precept gradually and almost imperceptibly, our motives, our thoughts, our words, and our deeds become aligned with the will of God. Continuing conversion unto the Lord requires both persistence and patience."
David A. Bednar

Even if you haven't started well,… you can decide to change, endure, and finish well. Because of Jesus Christ, His love, and what He's done… the "Good News" is that any one of us in an instant can improve our lives for the better.
We can't go back and make a new start, but we can start right now to make a new ending!
Don't ever forget that the perfect place to begin is where you are today.
 Dieter F. Uchtdorf

The Savior empowers us with His Grace, not because we've earned it,
but because He loves us perfectly.
