"Thou Mayest Choose for Thyself"

Pray for the strength to walk the high road,

which at times may be lonely but which will lead to peace and happiness and joy supernal."

President Gordon B Hinckley

"Stay on the High Road"

"One of God's greatest gifts to man is freedom of choice. At an early period in the journey through life, man finds himself at a crossroad where he must choose one of two great highways-the right, leading to progress and happiness; and the wrong, leading to retardation and sorrow. There exists this eternal law that each human soul, through the choices he makes, will shape his own destiny. Our success or failure, peace or discontent,
happiness or misery, depend on the choices we make each day."

N. Eldon Tanner

"Thou Mayest Choose for Thyself"

"Instead of dwelling on the wickedness and grief of those who have sinned,
I rejoice to read how many have abandoned their sinful practices and are now on the road back to righteousness and happiness...let us...rejoice in the spirit of forgiveness,
which is the comforting message of the Atonement."

Theodore M. Burton

"We must not lose hope. Hope is an anchor to the souls of men.
Satan would have us cast away that anchor. In this way he can bring discouragement and surrender. But we must not lose hope. The Lord is pleased with every effort, even the tiny, daily ones in which we strive to be more like Him.
Though we may see that we have far to go on the road to perfection,
we must not give up hope."

Ezra Taft Benson

"Now we see coming into focus the responsibility to choose, that inevitable crisis at the crossroads of life. He who would lead you down waits patiently for a dark night, a wavering will, a confused conscience, a mixed-up mind. Are you prepared to make the decisions at the crossroads? I can't stress too strongly that decisions determine destiny. You can't make eternal decisions without eternal consequences."

President Thomas S. Monson

"The road signs of life enticingly invite every traveler: This way to fame; this way to affluence; this way to popularity; this way to luxury. Pause at the crossroads before you continue your journey. Listen for that still, small voice which ever so gently beckons,
"Come, follow me."

This way to Jericho."

Thomas S. Monson

3 Nephi 8:13

And the highways were broken up, and the level roads were spoiled, and many smooth places became rough.
"With celestial sight, trials impossible to change become possible to endure."

Russell M. Nelson

"Rather than simply passing through trials,
we must allow trials to pass through us in ways that sanctify us."

Elder Neil A Maxwell

You cannot climb uphill by thinking downhill thoughts

The road to anywhere is the road to nowhere, and the road to nowhere leads to dreams sacrificed, opportunities squandered, and a life
unfulfilled. In our journey we will encounter forks and turnings in the road.
Thomas S. Monson

We travel many different roads in this life, and some are harder to walk than others.

But there is one road we all "walk" at various times in our lives. It is

a road made famous by a parable that Jesus told. I refer to the road to Jericho.
Now the Jericho Road may not be clearly marked.

Each of us travels our own Jericho Road.
Thomas S. Monson

"If we choose the wrong road,
we choose the wrong destination."

Elder Dallin H. Oaks

"Challenges, difficulties, questions, doubts-these are part of our mortality.
But we are not alone. As disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ,
we have enormous spiritual reservoirs of light and truth available to us.
Fear and faith cannot coexist in our hearts at the same time.
In our days of difficulty, we choose the road of faith."

Elder Neil L. Andersen

"Periodically one might well ask,
"If I continue to travel the road I am currently following,
where will it lead me and what will happen to my family?"
Are we establishing the foundation for an eternal family,
or are we focusing more on the pride of personal accomplishments
and a collection of temporal trophies that are taking precedence over the things that should
really matter most? Regardless of our age and stage in life,
daily obedience to gospel principles is the only sure way to eternal happiness."

Elder Donald L Staheli

"Gracias, danke, merci whatever language is spoken,
'thank you' frequently expressed will cheer your spirit, broaden your friendships, and lift your
lives to a higher pathway as you journey toward perfection.
There is a simplicity even a sincerity when 'thank you' is spoken."

Thomas S. Monson

Then may each of us follow Him along that Jericho Road which leads to life eternal.

President Thomas S. Monson
