The Gift of........

“The family circle is the ideal place to demonstrate and learn kindness,
forgiveness, faith in God, and every other practicing virtue of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Dallin H. Oaks
“After this life, you will be restored to that which you have here allowed yourself to become.”
Richard G. Scott
“Taken at random, let me mention a few gifts that are not always evident or noteworthy but that are very important. Among these may be your gifts, gifts not so evident but nevertheless real and valuable…The gift of asking; the gift of listening; the gift of hearing and using a still, small voice; the gift of being able to weep; the gift of avoiding contention; the gift of being agreeable; the gift of avoiding vain repetition; the gift of seeking that which is righteous; the gift of not passing judgment; the gift of looking to God for guidance; the gift of being a disciple; the gift of caring for others; the gift of being able to ponder; the gift of offering prayer; the gift of bearing a mighty testimony; and the gift of receiving the Holy Ghost.”
Marvin J. Ashton
“You can do nothing better for your children than to have them taking their turn in the family prayer, expressing gratitude for their blessings. If they do that while they are young,
they will grow with a spirit of thanksgiving in their hearts.”
Gordon B. Hinckley
“God loves us to continue. Our neighbors and families love us if we will but follow through with sustaining support and self-sharing…We need not weary in well-doing when we understand God’s purposes and his children.”
Marvin J. Ashton
“God sends…messages about helping others to us with more confidence at Christmastime, knowing that we will respond because our hearts are more sensitive to the Savior’s example and to the words of His servants.”
Henry B. Eyring
If I could convince you, persuade you, implore you to on your own read the Book of Mormon not just with your family… not because someone asks you to do it but because you want to, something you don’t report to anyone it could be a year you would always remember and would set a foundation for you forever.”
Neil L. Andersen
“…If we are only willing to open our hearts and minds to the spirit of Christmas, we will recognize wonderful things happening around us that will direct or redirect our attention to the sublime. It is usually something small—we read a verse of scripture; we hear a sacred carol and really listen, perhaps for the first time, to its words; or we witness a sincere expression of love. In one way or another, the Spirit touches our hearts, and we see that Christmas, in its essence, is much more sturdy and enduring than the many minor things of life we too often use to adorn it.”
                                                                                 Dieter F. Uchtdorf
“To all who are weary, let the comforting words of the Savior console you: ‘Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’ Let us rely on that promise. The power of God can infuse our spirits and bodies with energy and vigor. I urge you to seek this blessing from the Lord. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you, for He has promised that ‘they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.’”
Joseph B. Wirthlin
“If the Savior were to call you today, would you be just as willing to leave your nets and follow Him?”

Joseph B. Wirthlin

……the Lord is in all of our lives. He loves us. He wants to bless us. He wants us to seek His help. As He guides us and directs us and as He hears and answers our prayers, we will find the happiness here and now that He desires for us. May we be aware of His blessings in our lives, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, amen.”
Thomas S. Monson
“The Christmas season is wonderful in many ways. It is a season of charitable acts of kindness and brotherly love. It is a season of being more reflective about our own lives and about the many blessings that are ours. It is a season of forgiving and being forgiven. It is a season to enjoy the music and lights, parties and presents. But the glitter of the season should never dim our sight and prevent us from truly seeing the Prince of Peace in His majesty.”
Dieter F. Uchtdorf
