An exclusive cadre' - the "Fellowship of Christ's Sufferings"

“There is another very powerful inducement for us to endure well. President Young said of Jesus, ‘Why should we imagine for one moment that we can be prepared to enter into the kingdom of rest with him and the Father, without passing through similar ordeals?’ The Apostle Paul noted how this sacred process produces an exclusive cadre-those who have known the “fellowship of Christ's sufferings”. These are they who will have the greatest capacity for endless service, joy, and happiness.”
Neal A. Maxwell

“…We all have received the divine injunction: ‘Follow thou me.’ It guided Peter. It motivated Paul. It can determine our personal destiny. Can we make the decision to follow in righteousness and truth the Redeemer of the world? With his help, a rebellious boy can become an obedient man, a wayward girl can cast aside the old self and begin anew.
Indeed, the gospel of Jesus Christ can change lives.”
Thomas S. Monson

“Let us be more merciful. Let us get the arrogance out of our lives, the conceit, the egotism. Let us be more compassionate, gentler, filled with forbearance and patience and a greater measure of respect one for another. In so doing, our very example will cause others to be more merciful, and we shall have greater claim upon the mercy of God who in His love will be generous toward us.”
Gordon B. Hinckley

“Certain forms of suffering, endured well, can actually be ennobling. Annie Swetchine said, ‘Those who have suffered much are like those who know many languages; they have learned to understand and be understood by all’ ”
Neal A. Maxwell

“Beyond your circle of earthly friends, I urge you to make a friend of your Heavenly Father. He stands ready to answer the prayer of your heart. Being the Father of your spirit and having created you in His own image, knowing the end from the beginning, His wisdom will not fail and His counsel is ever true. Make a friend of Him.”
Thomas S. Monson

“You and I are not expected to pretend chastening is pleasant, but we are expected to endure it well’
Neal A. Maxwell

“My earnest prayer is that the blessings of our God may be over us in time, that when we get through and shall pass behind the veil, we shall have done all that was required of us, and be prepared to dwell with the sanctified and the just made perfect through the blood of the Lamb.”
Wilford Woodruff
