It is Love

The Gift of the Season was a little Child who became our King.
From: God
“Christmas is more than trees and twinkling lights, more than toys and gifts and baubles of a hundred varieties. It is love. It is the love of the Son of God for all mankind. It reaches out beyond our power to comprehend. It is magnificent and beautiful. It is peace. It is the peace which comforts, which sustains, which blesses all who accept it. It is faith. It is faith in God and His Eternal Son. It is faith in His wondrous ways and message. It is faith in Him as our Redeemer and our Lord. We testify of His living reality. We testify of the divinity of His nature. In our times of grateful meditation, we acknowledge His priceless gift to us and pledge our love and faith.
This is what Christmas is really about.”
Gordon B. Hinckley
“There is no better time than now, this very Christmas season, for all of us to rededicate ourselves to the principles taught by Jesus the Christ. It is the time to love the Lord our God with all our heart and our neighbors as ourselves. It is well to remember that he who gives money gives much, he who gives time gives more,
but he who gives of himself gives all.”
Thomas S. Monson
“May we live so that we will have no regrets for Christmases past. May our present Christmases be filled with the joy that comes from keeping the commandments that our Lord and Savior came to teach. May we continue to look forward with expectation for happier Christmases to come because we have shared our blessings with others. And may it be said of us, as it was ever after of Scrooge, that ‘he knew how to keep Christmas well.’ ”
N. Eldon Tanner
“After the Christmas season is over, the Christmas lights come down, the fragrance of pine dissipates into the air, and the Christmas music no longer plays on the radio, we… may ask, ‘What happens next?’  The wonder and awe of Christmas is just a beginning. Christmas reminds us that the babe born in Bethlehem has given us purpose for living, and what happens next to us largely depends on how we embrace our Savior, Jesus Christ, and follow Him.”
Rosemary M. Wixom
“While there are those for whom Christmas is difficult-particularly those who have lost loved ones and for whom there is now a poignant loneliness-even to these there comes the assurance of future glad reunions made possible only because of the sacrifice of the Son of God, whose birth we commemorate at this season.”
Gordon B. Hinckley
“Even as He moved toward the Crucifixion, He restrained His Apostles who would have intervened by saying, ‘The cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?’ When that unspeakable ordeal was finished, He uttered what must have been the most peaceful and deserved words of His mortal ministry. At the end of His agony, He whispered, ít is finished: … Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.’ Finally it was over. Finally He could go home. I confess that I have reflected at length upon that moment and the resurrection which was shortly to follow it. I have wondered what that reunion must have been like: the Father that loved this Son so much, the Son that honored and revered His Father in every word and deed. For two who were one as these two were one, what must that embrace have been like? What must that divine companionship be yet? We can only wonder and admire. And we can…..yearn to live worthily of some portion of that relationship ourselves.”
Jeffrey R. Holland
“Never did the Savior give in expectation of receiving. He gave freely and lovingly, and His gifts were of inestimable value…We should strive to give as He gave. To give of oneself is a holy gift. We give as a remembrance of all the Savior has given.”
Howard W. Hunter
“Sometimes our celebrations of notable occurrences seem to take on earthly color, and we do not fully realize the significance of the reason for the celebration. This is true of Christmas, when too often we celebrate the holiday rather than the deep significance of the birth and resurrection of the Lord.”
Spencer W. Kimball
God … prepared a sacrifice in the gift of His own Son, who should be sent in due time to prepare a way, or open a door through which man might enter into the Lord’s presence”
Joseph Smith
