Love is the guiding light that illuminates

“If we honor the light that we are all born with, which is the very light of Christ…. that will increase our faithfulness which increases our Faith, such faith brings the very influence of Heaven. When the light of the human spirit reaches out to receive of the Divine Spirit it is like two candles that put close together become one flame and that light can grow brighter and brighter as a perfect day.

Truman Madsen

“…there are clusters of memories embedded in each of your lives. And these can help us to "remember how merciful the Lord hath been". …… as you submit your wills to God, you are giving Him the only thing you can actually give Him that is really yours to give. Don't wait too long to find the altar or to begin to place the gift of your wills upon it! No need to wait for a receipt; the Lord has His own special ways of acknowledging.”

Neal A. Maxwell

"Humility is the precious, fertile soil of righteous character. It germinates the seeds of personal growth. When cultivated through the exercise of faith, pruned by repentance, and fortified by obedience and good works, such seeds produce the cherished fruit of spirituality. Divine inspiration and power then result. Inspiration is to know the will of the Lord. Power is the capability to accomplish that inspired will.

Such power comes from God after we have done "all we can do"."

Richard G. Scott

“So if we are becoming more aware of our weaknesses, that doesn’t mean we are drifting away from Him; it may well mean that we are drawing closer. Like a good coach, a good tutor will always help his students see their mistakes and correct them. When we understand that, correction is motivating, not discouraging. For because of the Atonement, we can learn from our mistakes without being condemned by them.”

Bruce C. Hafen

“Love is the guiding light that illuminates the disciple’s path and fills our daily walk with life, meaning and wonder. Love is the measure of our faith, the inspiration for our obedience, and the true altitude of our discipleship. Love is the way of the disciple.”

Dieter F. Uchtdorf

"It is a time-honored adage that love begets love. Let us pour forth love
show forth our kindness unto all mankind, and the Lord will reward us with everlasting increase."

“In its sweep and scope, atonement takes on the aspect of one of the grand constants in nature omnipresent, unalterable, such as gravity or the speed of light. Like them it is always there, easily ignored, hard to explain, and hard to believe in without an explanation.

Also, we are constantly exposed to its effects whether we are aware of them or not.”

Hugh Nibley

“The Lord’s way is not hard. Life is hard, not the gospel. “There is an opposition in all things,” everywhere, for everyone. Life is hard for all of us, but life is also simple. We have only two choices. We can either follow the Lord and be endowed with His power and have peace, light, strength, knowledge, confidence, love, and joy, or we can go some other way, any other way, whatever other way, and go it alone without His support, without His power, without guidance, in darkness, turmoil, doubt, grief, and despair. And I ask, which way is easier? … Life is hard, but life is simple. Get on the path and never, ever give up. You never give up. You just keep on going. You don’t quit, and you will make it. There is only one way to happiness and fulfillment. Jesus Christ is the Way. Every other way, any other way, whatever other way is madness.”

Lawrence E. Corbridge

“The past is to be learned from but not lived in… and when we have learned what we need to learn and have brought with us the best that we have experienced, then we look ahead and remember that faith is always pointed toward the future. Faith always has to do with blessings and truths and events that will yet be efficacious in our lives.”

Jeffrey R. Holland

"Unless you exercise sufficient faith,

you deny the Lord the opportunity to help you in the course of your daily life."

Grant Von Harrison

“To exercise faith is to trust that the Lord knows what He is doing with you and that He can accomplish it for your eternal good even though you cannot understand how He can possibly do it. We are like infants in our understanding of eternal matters and their impact on us here in mortality. Yet at times we act as if we knew it all. When you pass through trials for His purposes, as you trust Him, exercise faith in Him, He will help you. That support will generally come step by step, a portion at a time. While you are passing through each phase, the pain and difficulty that comes from being enlarged will continue. If all matters were immediately resolved at your first petition, you could not grow. Your Father in Heaven and His Beloved Son love you perfectly. They would not require you to experience a moment more of difficulty than is absolutely needed for your personal benefit or for that of those you love.”

Richard G. Scott

“God expects you to have enough faith and determination and enough trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects you not simply to face the future. He expects you to embrace and shape the future--to love it and rejoice in it and delight in your opportunities. God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can’t if you don’t pray, and He can’t if you don’t dream. In short, He can’t if you don’t believe.”

Jeffrey R. Holland
