To everything there is a season

I am grateful to know with an absolute certainty that there is One who, when I trip or
stumble or fall, will be there to pick me up, dust me off, encircle me in the arms of His
love, and walk with me to the finish line. I testify that He lives and that the more we
become like Him in understanding our identity, being pure and virtuous in every aspect
of our lives, and following the voice of the Spirit, and keeping our covenants, the more
our personal charity our pure love will never fail. “Wherefore … let us lay aside
every weight,” everything that might hold us back, “and let us run with patience the race
that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith”
Life teaches us that “charity never faileth”. In fact, we can be assured “it
endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with
them. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

The Lord knows us. He loves us. He believes in us. And He is counting on us to do exactly what we
said we would do. Happily, we don’t have to do it alone. He stands waiting for us to seek His help.
He is eager to endow those who qualify with His power. He will gift us with skill and
understanding commensurate with our seeking, our purity, and our need.
…we are part of a royal army…Indeed, “we have a labor to perform now whilst in this
tabernacle of clay, that we may conquer the enemy of all righteousness”

we can love as God loves. Not because we are so great or because we are so loving,
but because God is. His love for us is perfect. It “suffereth long,” it “endureth all things,” and it
“never faileth.” It can transform us and enhance our love for others. May we “be filled with this
love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that …
when he shall appear we shall be like him,” is my prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every
purpose under the heaven”
Ecclesiastes 3:1

The Lord knows and understands our limitations and our abilities, and He still offers us the
riches of eternity. He calls on us to be patient while He leads us, saying, “And ye cannot bear all
things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer, for I will lead you along. The kingdom is yours and
the blessings thereof are yours, and the riches of eternity are yours” We must
choose to develop patience “a willingness … to watch the
unfolding purposes of God with a sense of wonder and awe, rather than pacing up and down
within the cell of our circumstance” We have to be faithful, active participants in fulfilling the Lord’s plans and timetable, while at the same time working hard to leave behind the frustration, pacing and disappointment that come with Heavenly Father’s plans that are different than our own. We must choose to be patient.
To recognize the Lord’s plan for each of us and slow down and patiently wait for His direction,
we must use our agency wisely. The blessing of maintaining an eternal perspective will be ours if
we choose to put the Lord first, be a disciple of Christ, build our faith, be comforted, and be
patient. I testify that the Lord is mindful of each of us. He loves us. He has a plan for each of us
that is far better than we can imagine. As we choose to align ourselves with our Heavenly Father,
we will be blessed with increased faith in His timing, and we will find the peace that comes with
having an eternal perspective.

“Therefore, ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; for he [or she] that
asketh, receiveth; and unto him [or her] that knocketh, it shall be opened” (3 Ne. 27:28–29).
It is in following Jesus and the pattern He has given for proper and faithful living that we find the
secrets of increasing the faith that we so vitally need. It is in serving others and following the
Savior’s prescriptions that we increase both the faith of others and our own as well. It is in so
doing we realize that the Lord knows best what we really need and that our lives, including the
unexpected twists and turns, are in His loving hands.
It is my witness that He lives and that our Father in Heaven knows us better than we know
ourselves. He hears our prayers and answers them, not necessarily to our immediate preferences
but to our ultimate benefit because of the Atonement and intercession of His Beloved Son, Jesus
Christ, in whose name we pray and whose example we seek to emulate.

May “the Lord bless you and keep you: The Lord make his face shine upon you, and be
gracious unto you: The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.”
